The Virtual State - WIP
An alternative world on earth and outside earth. A man-made realm that is fully and adjacent to nature.
Its spatiality is fully deployable and collapsible.
It’s physical implications affects our population distribution, urbanized states and global regeneration efforts.
If there was any physicality to the a pixler, I would assume it takes on spatial limits governed by the technology it possesses. Otherwise, what would the point of a (physical) pixel if an array of it were able to mimic and deploy an identical image that exists in nature.
Don't get me wrong, I think the idea to have a physical realm adjacent to nature that can be fully occupied should at least be associated with the existing image of mother nature. But for the sake of experiencing new spaces and landscapes one might think a pixelscape should defy the norm of reality, and in this case visual physics.
A replicator would be able to deploy brand new landscapes for users, but imagine what an array of replicators could do. A virtual state (a reality in which an array of replicators deploy and collapse a vast expanse of networked pixelscapes) is a massive notion that not only supplies humanity with a new sustainable architectural landscape to operate in, at its height it will have the ability to harness enough energy to manipulate the elements (tsunami, volcanic eruptions all bend down to its knees...imagine)
Anyway back to the point here, and on the implications of a virtual state on an architectural level (human level), the user experience should be the product of certain technological limitations at play. This should eventually govern the form and architectural typology (if any) for a unique and alternative user experience.
So I worked on visualising several replicators at play around the island of Ibiza. The dark purple sludge are pixelscapes in operation. Looking closer are speckles of light which are the replicators beneath.
